Registering Sony Game Systems

Sony Playstation 3 (Wireless)

  1. Navigate to Settings   located on the far left
  2. Navigate down to System Settings
  3. Select System Information
  4. The MAC address will be listed in the format XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
  5. From a web browser, visit http://netreg.butler.edu and login with your Butler username and password
  6. Enter the MAC address in the MAC address field
  7. Enter a description
  8. Click the Register button
  9. You should see a successful registration message. You can now sign out of Netreg.
  10. Restart your Playstation
  11. Connect to the BU Guest/Open Wireless network
    1. Navigate to Settings   located on the far left
    2. Go down to Network Settings at the very bottom
    3. Press X
    4. Make sure Internet Connection is Enabled
    5. Go to Internet Connection Settings
    6. Press X 
    7. Press X again and choose Easy
    8. Choose Wireless   and then Scan
    9. Select BU Guest/Open Wireless
    10. Press X 
    11. Ensure BU Guest/Open Wireless   is selected and press the right arrow
    12. Select None   and press the right arrow
    13. Press X  to save the settings
    14. Press Test Connection
    15. Press Circle
  13. Your Device should now be connected to the Internet

Sony Playstation 2

  1. Load the Start-up CD in your PS2
  2. Make sure you have the network cable disconnected
  3. Walk through the Start-Up CD until it starts testing your connection. Since the network cable is disconnected, the test will fail.
  4. You can now press the select button which will display the MAC address
  5. Write down the MAC address of your PS2 (the 12-digit number)
  6. From a web browser, visit http://netreg.butler.edu and login with your Butler username and password
  7. Enter the MAC address in the MAC address field
  8. Enter a description
  9. Click the Register button
  10. You should see a successful registration message. You can now sign out of Netreg.
  11. Restart your PS2
  12. Connect the PS2 to a RED Ethernet port
  13. Your device should now be connected

Sony PSP

  1. Navigate to System Settings
  2. Then navigate to System Information
  3. The MAC address will be listed in the format XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
  4. From a web browser, visit http://netreg.butler.edu and login with your Butler username and password
  5. Enter the MAC address in the MAC address field
  6. Enter a description
  7. Click the Register button
  8. You should see a successful registration message. You can now sign out of Netreg.
  9. Restart your PSP
  10. Connect to BU Guest/Open Wireless
  11. Your device should now be connected
