Microsoft Surface Wireless Registration

BU Secure Wireless Registration ~ Show Information

  1. Ensure that you are in a wireless location
  2. Slide your finger to the left from the right side of the screen to open the sidebar
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select the wireless bars icon. It should be labeled "Available".
  5. Under Wi-Fi, select BU Secure Wireless
  6. Select Connect
  7. Enter your Butler username and password if prompted, then click OK
  8. You should now have Internet access

Connecting to BU Guest/Open Wireless ~ Show Information

  1. Ensure that you are in a wireless location
  2. Slide your finger to the left from the right side of the screen to open the sidebar
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select the wireless bars icon. It should be labeled "Available".
  5. Under Wi-Fi, select BU Guest/Open Wireless
  6. Select Connect
  7. A screen will appear in your internet browser with username and password fields, as well as two links. Click on the I Don't Have a Butler Account - Create a Guest Account link.
  8. Enter the required information and click Submit
  9. The page will confirm that your account has been successfully created. Make a note of your username and password. These appear below along with the information you entered on the previous page.
  10. When you have your information ready, click on the button labeled I have my username and password, take me to the log in screen
  11. Enter your username and password. Click Log In.
  12. The Butler University Computer Use Policy appears. Once you have read the policy, indicate your acceptance by checking the Accept the terms and conditions box, then click Accept.
  13. An Active-X download may take a few seconds. You may also see a notification that your IP Address is being renewed.
  14. Once completed, you should now have Internet access
