Butler Windows 7 Laptops
Butler Windows 7 laptops come with the AnyConnect client
pre-installed.
- To use AnyConnect click the Start Button and
type AnyConnect
- In the Cisco window that appears type
buconnect.butler.edu in the Connect
to: field
- Enter your Butler username and password
- Click Connect
- You can now access BUfiles and Outlook off-campus just as you
would on-campus
Butler Windows XP Laptops
Please verify the following before attempting to connect to
BUconnect:
- If you are running Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox, verify
that Java Runtime Environment
is installed
- If you are using a different browser, please switch to one of
the above browsers
- Open the following link in your web browser:
http://buconnect.butler.edu
- If this is your first time using BUconnect, you will have to
accept several security warnings and install some software. If you
are using Internet Explorer 8 on Windows, you will be prompted to
install Cisco Secure Desktop. When prompted to install an ActiveX
application, right-click on the banner with and select
Install ActiveX Control. An Internet Explorer
Security Warning will appear.
Click Install
- After Secure Desktop installs successfully, the BUconnect page
loads. Enter your Butler username and password, then
click Login
- Click Start AnyConnect
- Depending on your browser, you will receive several security
warnings, similar to the security messages received when initially
connecting to BUconnect. Accept all of them
- AnyConnect will automatically download and install. Do not
close any of the installation windows
- When installation is complete, the AnyConnect client will
automatically establish a connection
You can now access BUfiles and Outlook off-campus just as you
would on-campus.
