Apple Mail 10.6 & Newer versions Exchange Configuration

  1. Open Mail. From the Mail tab, select Preferences
  2. Click the plus button at the bottom of the screen to add a new account

  3. Enter your full name
  4. Enter your full Butler email address
  5. Enter your Butler password and press continue
  6. Choose Exchange or Exchange 2007 for the Account Type
  7. You can enter what you like for the description, such as BUmail
    1. In earlier versions of OS X more infomation may be needed:
    2. Set the Internal Server to bumail.butler.edu
    3. Set the External Server to bumail.butler.edu
    4. Enter your Butler username and password
    5. The box for "Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)" should be checked. Click Continue
  8. Keep the boxes checked for "Address Book Contacts" and "iCal Calendars" if you want Apple Mail to import your contacts and calender from BUmail. Click Continue
  9. Click Create and Apple Mail will launch your email. It may take some time to completely populate your inbox with all of your emails and folders
