Administrative Systems Improvement Committee
Mission
The mission of the Administrative Systems Improvement Committee
is to develop effective and efficient business practices through
the use of software and operational processes to realize the
mission of Butler University.
Goals
- Evaluate current practices, develop a strategy, and make
recommendations for administrative systems improvement for each
fiscal year
- Ensure all areas of the University have administrative system
improvement plans developed in collaboration with their
constituents
- Recommend to the CIO prioritization of goals and objectives for
IT
- Review major system changes that will impact annual plans
- Oversee the implementation of new business processes and
improvements
- Ensure policies and procedures exist for all business processes
related to the use of administrative systems
- Validate realization of project goals

The committee discusses a range of topics. Some typical topics
include:
- Annual prioritization of resources related to administrative
systems
- PeopleSoft
- Work to achieve long-term goals, campus wide
- Timing of new releases for PeopleSoft
- Oversight of major conversions
- Confidential information policy & procedures
- Disaster recovery plan for HB computer room, including business
interruption plans
- Parent web portal
- My.butler.edu portal

Member Roles
- Attend all monthly meetings
- Survey their users/constituents on needs and opportunities
- Represent the university, not just their department
- Provide communication of the meetings to their
constituents
- Provide communication to the university about the vision and
progress towards the vision/strategy
- Provide support for all business initiatives
- Recommend/Approve formation of ad hoc project teams as
needed
- Serve on ad hoc project teams as needed
The committee will work under the leadership of the CIO; the CIO
will make periodic reports to the Cabinet, Administrative
Group/VPs, and the Information Management Council.
Meetings
Group meets monthly, generally on the 3rd Thursday of the month,
9:00 a.m - 10:00 a.m.
