Butler University Associate Athletic Director of Administration

Butler University is seeking an Associate Athletic Director of Administration.

Butler University is an NCAA Division I institution, a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the Pioneer Football League and comprised of 19 athletic teams. This position reports directly to the Vice President and Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities include: insuring NCAA compliance policies and procedures are being followed throughout the athletic department and the University. The interpretation of the appropriate NCAA rules and regulations and communicating them to the administrators, coaches, student-athletes, and campus personnel. Monitoring and assisting the Registrar's office in certifying the academic and athletic eligibility of all 350+ student-athletes according to the NCAA regulations throughout the year.  Looking out for the well-being of all student-athletes at all times and assists the athletic department administration with various decisions related to the department and student-athletes.  Overseeing the Academic Support Program, Softball, Men's and Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Athletic Training and Strength and Conditioning and the personnel in each area.

Travel is required, as well as attendance at events on evenings and weekends. Other duties may be assigned as a member of the senior athletics staff.

Preferred candidates will have a bachelor's degree in related field, Master's preferred. With a minimum of three years experience with NCAA Division I eligibility and certification and a minimum of 5 years managerial experience.

Assistant Women's Basketball Coach ~ Show Information

ASSISTANT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

Position Title:    Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Position Description:  Full time, 12 month position

Responsibilities:  Assist head coach with all phases of a Division I women's
    basketball program including coaching, recruiting and
    development of student-athletes, video tape exchange and
    breakdown, opponent scouting, practice and game
    preparation, fundraising, retention, academic success and
    day-to-day management of the women's basketball
    programs.  Assist with the coordination of summer camps.
    Other duties as assigned by head coach.

Qualifications:   Earned four year baccalaureate degree required.  Masters
    preferred.  Coaching experience on a university campus,
    within an athletic organization, and recruiting experience
    preferred.  Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
    desired.

Skills and Knowledge: Collegiate coaching preferred.  Desired candidate will have
    outstanding written and verbal communication.  Strong
    organizational and leadership skills; able to work
    effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators,
    alumni and staff; demonstrated fundraising skills.

  • Team travel arrangements (both domestic and international)
  • Community Relations (Community Service Projects, Promotional Activities, Media Training, and Guest Speaker Coordination)
  • Student-Athlete Welfare (Liaison to Academic Support, Compliance, Student-Life)

 Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least two years of experience as a student-athlete or coach, preferably at the NCAA Division I level
  • Proficient computer skills in Powerpoint, Excel, and Word

Men's Basketball Analyst ~ Show Information

Men's Basketball Analyst

The Basketball Analyst will assist the men's basketball program with the procurement, analysis and presentation (to staff) of basketball-related data.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Stat, Chart and Analyze each practice and game
  • Perform advanced statistical analysis on large volumes of basketball-related data and implement predictive models to aid in prospect analysis and in-game decision-making.
  • Analyze data and present results to the men's basketball staff.
  • Research and evaluate new sources of data and analysis tools.
  • Game Scheduling - develop a model with 17 home games that predicts best results for strong computer numbers at the end of the season.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

 Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and talent for communicating clear and effective messages with a variety of different constituencies.
  • Strong organizational skills with focus on detailed outcomes.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and current applications in basketball.
  • Strong computer skills
