This is a position in which the Personal Trainer is expected to
actively participate in the development and implementation of safe,
effective and enjoyable fitness routines. The Personal Trainer
ensures the safe and proper use of all equipment involved.
Administrative duties such as keeping track of client sessions are
required. Nationally recognized certifications must be obtain
within one year of hire from the following organizations:
American Council on Exercise (ACE) and American College of Sports
Time: 2-8 sessions/week and fitness desk
Dates: Academic year plus occasional sessions
during breaks (i.e. winter break)
Reports to: Assistant Director - Fitness

There are two ways for students to join
the Personal Training team
- If you already have a personal
training certification, you can apply using the
standard employment application on our website and
contact Beth Lohman, Assistant Director - Fitness, to
discuss an audition (firstname.lastname@example.org;
- Take our Fall In-House Personal
Being certified in FA/CPR/AED is a requirement of
- The Department of Recreation will provide opportunities to
obtain certification through the American Red Cross.
- If you cannot attend the sessions we provide it is the
responsibility of the employee to obtain certification
within 30 days of employment.
Employees that join the team via the Fall In-House Personal
Training Program are required to obtain a nationally recognized
personal training certification within one year of hire date.
