Personal Trainers

Job Description

• This is a position in which the Personal Trainer is expected to actively participate in the development and implementation of safe, effective and enjoyable fitness routines. The Personal Trainer ensures the safe and proper use of all equipment involved. Administrative duties such as keeping track of client sessions are required. Nationally recognized certifications must be obtain within one year of hire from the following organizations: American Council on Exercise (ACE) and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

  Time: 2-8 sessions/week and fitness desk shifts
  Dates: Academic year plus occasional sessions during breaks (i.e. winter break)
  Reports to: Personal Training Coordinator

1 - If you already have a personal training certification, you can contact Ceci Jennings, Personal Training Coordinator, to discuss an audition (cajennin@butler.edu ; 317-940-6121)

2 - Take our Fall In-House Personal Trainer Training

FA/CPR/AED Certifications

Being certified in FA/CPR/AED is a requirement of employment.

• The Department of Recreation will provide opportunities to obtain certification through the American Red Cross.
• If you cannot make the sessions we provide it is up to you to obtain certification within 15 days of employment.

Employees that join the team via the Fall In-House Personal Training Program are required to obtain a nationally recognized personal training certification within one year of hire date.
