Equipment Maintenance Specialist
Job Description:
Maintain appearance of all cardiovascular and strength training
fitness equipment located in the Department of Recreation at
the HRC. Assist in the day to day maintenance for the benefit
of the members and the university community. This position requires
a mature individual with good communication skills who is
responsible for cleaning exercise equipment, preventive
maintenance, and inspection of equipment in the fitness areas for
the safety and convenience of patrons.
Time:
minimum 2 hour shift per week
Dates:
Shifts are available all year including breaks
Reports to:
Assistant Director of Recreation - Fitness
Rate of Pay:
$7.50/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes a safe, clean, functional and marketable exercise
area
- Knowledge of all policies and procedures of the facilities
- Follow the preset guidelines for routine cleaning and
inspection of equipment
- Keep facilities in excellent condition while also providing
great customer service to our members
- Works cooperatively with other areas of the department to
achieve established goals
- Performs other work as assigned
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently
- Ability to use independent judgment when needed
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of
situations
- Mandatory attendance at training meetings
- Strong problem‐solving skills
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
