Aquatics

 

Serious and casual swimmers alike will feel at home in the Aquatic Center. Our 25-yard lap pool contains six individual swimming lanes, and feeds into a spacious leisure pool featuring bubble benches and a current channel. Not content to offer swimming facilities alone, the Aquatic Center also offers patrons use of a hot tub and sauna, perfect for relaxation or sports therapy.

For those who prefer structured exercise, pre-made swimming workouts are available, ranging from 1,000 to 4,000 yards. The workouts offer a diversity of routines and drills, adding variety and motivation to your swimming workout. Swim belts and diving bricks are also available for patrons looking to do in-pool exercise beyond swimming. Also, don't forget to ask about the Aquatic Incentive Program and Water Events!

Education

Swim lessons are available for all abilities and ages. Our trained instructors will be happy to work with you, whether you've never had the opportunity to learn to swim, or just need stroke improvement.

American Red Cross Safety Courses are available to all Butler students and the community. Register at the HRC front desk for all courses. Limit of 10 people/course.

Group Recreation

Patrons need only ask a lifeguard, and a volleyball net or basketball hoop can be set up in the leisure pool - perfect for group recreation. If you want more structure and want to try out the new games for the 2012-2013 year, check out these events!

Avoid Traffic

Swimmers looking for more privacy, or just less competition for lanes, should consider our off-peak hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The women's varsity team is changing their practice time, so the lap lanes will be more available from 3:15p-5:30p.
