Homecoming FAQs

Tailgate parking passes will be mailed in advance to the registrant's home address.  Registrants that ordered football tickets and/or individual event tickets will not receive tickets in advance. Football tickets will be available for pick-up beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 22 at the Alumni Association Tent in Bulldog Boulevard located in Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot just south of gate 4. Those attending the President's Dinner or class reunion events will not need tickets; your name will be listed on the registration list so you will just check in at the door for your event.

Parking will be permitted in any of the parking lots marked with an A or C during the weekend. Parking will not be permitted in lots marked B, G or HV.  The Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot will be reserved for tailgate parking pass holders on Saturday, October 22 from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.  The Hinkle Fieldhouse lot opens at 8 a.m. Tailgate parking passes are SOLD OUT and will not be available on Homecoming.  View our online parking map of campus to view current parking allocations.

Golf cart shuttles will be circulating campus on Saturday, October 22 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. for those guests that need assistance in reaching another area of campus.

Tickets are not necessary for the reunion events. Attendees can simply arrive at the event and check-in at the registration table.

Yes, complimentary valet is available on the west side of Atherton Union.  Look for the directional signs.

Yes, the Alumni Association tent will be located in Bulldog Boulevard located in the Hinkle Fieldhouse Parking lot south of gate 4.  This is where you can pick up pre-ordered football tickets, register to win two $300 AirTran gift certificates, get your photo taken with Hink and more.

Bulldog Boulevard is an area of the Hinkle Tailgate that is filled with tents representing various campus organizations as well as private tailgaters. Advanced registration is required to secure a tent but not to visit.  Tailgate tents are SOLD OUT.  Bulldog Boulevard is open to the public, with or without a homecoming registration, and campus guests are encouraged to walk through and visit the various tents. Guests are welcome to bring their food, chairs, etc. into this area to gather with fellow alumni.

Yes. Located in the Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot south of gate 4, Chick-fil-A will be selling $5 breakfast combos from 9 a.m. - noon.  There is also open picnic seating for those that wish to enjoy their meal in the tailgate lot.

Cancellations before the registration deadline, Friday, October 7, 2011, are subject to a $5 cancellation fee.  Refunds can be processed in two ways.  One, the original purchaser may request a gift credit in the amount of the refund.  Two, refunds can be made in the form of a check made payable to the original purchaser four to six weeks after the cancellation.  No refunds will be made after the registration deadline, Friday, October 7, 2011.  Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend the event.

The Hinkle Fieldhouse Parking Lot is SOLD OUT for Homecoming 2011. 

Cars are placed in the Hinkle lot in the order in which they arrive. Only vehicles entering consecutively will be placed near one another. To be parked together, cars must arrive together.  All vehicle placements are at the discretion of the Hinkle Fieldhouse staff and security officers.

Each tent will have the signage indicated by the registrant displayed at their tent.  A map of the tented area will be mailed to those who purchased tents the week before.  Anyone with difficulty locating their tent should go to the Alumni Association tent located in Bulldog Boulevard in the Hinkle parking lot south of gate 4 for assistance.

The Hinkle lot will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 22 and remain open until 2.5 hours after the conclusion of the game or 5 p.m., whichever is earlier. Bulldog Boulevard tents can be occupied during those hours.

Bulldog Boulevard parking will be assigned as guests arrive that morning. Spots will not be adjacent to the tents themselves but will be located within the Hinkle Lot. Guests will need to move their supplies from their vehicles to their tent.

There is no deadline to register for the Bulldog Beauty Contest, however gift bags are only guaranteed for those who register.  For walk-ups, the gift bags are first-come, first-served.

There is a lot for kids to do at Homecoming.  The Bulldog Beauty Contest is a great family event and is located at Blue II's Family Fun Fest by the Health and Recreation Complex.  Also located in the Family Fun Fest are bounce houses, face painting, free balloons and more.  If the kids want to meet Hink, stop by the picnic area in Bulldog Boulevard in Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot at 11 a.m.  Be sure to check the Homecoming schedule listed by days.  Family-friendly events are marked with a bulldog paw.

The parade route begins at Atherton Union on Hampton Drive and turns onto Sunset Avenue and then onto 49^th Street.  Fans are encouraged to line the parade route to watch the band, cheerleaders and floats.

The Office of Admission invites you to attend a special event during Homecoming for alumni parents and prospective legacy students.  Please join on us Saturday, October 22^nd at 8:30 a.m.  for breakfast, admission information and a tour of campus. A number of events will allow walk-ups including the Bulldog Beauty Contest, football game, Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot, and the reunion events for Classes 2001 and 2006.  Several events are FREE and don't require a ticket.  Be sure to check out the full Homecoming schedule.

Most of the Butler Colleges will have faculty, staff and deans at their tent located in Bulldog Boulevard in the Hinkle Fieldhouse parking lot south of gate 4.

Everyone at Homecoming is encouraged to register to win a number of prizes including the Airtran Airline gift certificates.  The registration box will be in the Alumni Association tent located in Bulldog Boulevard in Hinkle Fieldhouse's parking lot south of gate 4.

Yes,  Hink will be at the picnic area in Bulldog Boulevard located in the Hinkle Parking lot south of gate 4. He is expected to be at this location from 11 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.  He will then leave to walk in the Homecoming parade.  Hink will also be available in the Butler Bowl during the football game.  

Yes, there are lots of free giveaways at this year's Homecoming.  Come find out.  We don't want to ruin the surprises!
