History Graduate Degree Program
The Department offers a Master of Arts in History. Graduate
students may select either a 30-hour program of courses with a
master's thesis or a 36-hour program of courses without a
thesis. Those in the 36-hour track must complete at least two
research seminars. All applicants must take the GRE.
Butler offers advanced study in the areas of:
- U.S. History
- Midwest Regional and Urban Studies
- European Intellectual, Cultural, and Social History
- East Asian History
- Latin American History
Butler offers graduate work in day, limited evening, and summer
programs, permitting both fulltime and part-time enrollment.
