Concourse Level
- Student-Athlete Success Center
Dedicated to upholding the extraordinary level of academic success that has become a hallmark of Butler student-athletes, a group that includes 25 Academic All-Americans in just the past decade, the new academic center will offer an environment that fosters such success in the classroom. Making use of the defunct pool area, students-athletes will now have access to a space that offers study carrels, computers and even tutors.
- Athletic Training Center
Currently situated in cramped quarters under the west stands and between two locker rooms, the training room staff and student-athletes will enjoy additional space, amenities, and equipment with a move to the former pool area.
- PE/Coaches’ Offices
Our Division I coaches and members of Butler’s Physical Education staff will now enjoy a common workspace in the newly renovated pool area with convenience in location for student-athletes, students and visitors.

West Gym
- Elevator
The modern passenger elevator would have been considered an item of luxury when the Fieldhouse was built in 1928; today it is a necessity. The trademark ramps and stadium steps will remain, but will no longer be the only way to navigate the levels of Hinkle.
- Restrooms
Currently limited to just the west side of the main concourse, restroom location and availability can be problematic during large events at the Fieldhouse. The Campaign for Hinkle Fieldhouse will allow for balance and accessibility in restroom offerings on the main level with renovation to current facilities and the addition of washrooms on the east corridor.
- Ticket Office
Gates 1 and 4 will become the primary entrances for the Fieldhouse and the ticket office will be relocated to accommodate both locations. The change in location will also make way at the front and center of the building for a lobby.
- Men's Basketball
The location will remain the same, but become much larger and up to date thanks to renovation and expansion. The additional space will meet the needs of our first class NCAA Division I men’s basketball program, providing expanded space for coaches’ offices, meeting rooms and spacious locker room.
- Women's Basketball
Renovation and expansion will make the current women’s basketball office and locker room a forgotten memory. Student-athletes will enjoy a larger locker room and newly constructed meeting rooms while the coaching staff will benefit from new office space.
- Weight Room
- West Class Room
A multi-purpose room which uses include PE classes, team film review, media interview room and study area, the West Classroom will remain a vital piece to Fieldhouse operations.
- New Chairback Seats
Since 1989, chairback seats have lined the immediate lower level of the Fieldhouse arena. Soon, those seats will be replaced and additional chairback seats will be installed to fill the entire lower bowl of the arena, or those sections from the track down to the playing floor.

- Lobby/Gathering Area
The relocation of the Fieldhouse ticket office and administration offices will make way for a proper gathering area and main lobby inside historic Hinkle. Additionally, this will alleviate congestion in the front hallway during big events.
- Wildman Room
Named in appreciation of Bob and Jean Wildman ’44 who generously provided the support necessary to create a private hospitality room in 1989, the Wildman Room will be expanded to nearly triple its current size. The additional space and amenities will assist in special event planning, visitor accommodations and greatly benefit Bulldog Club members, VIPs and guests that regularly use this great gathering place.
