Kidney-leaved, or littleleaf buttercup (Ranunculus abortivus)
Member of the Buttercup (Ranunculaceae) family. Found in various habitats during March - July, grows 6 to 24 inches. Flowers have 5 petals, equal to or shorter and narrower than the sepals, yellow. Unlobed basal leaves with rounded teeth mostly broader than long, resembling a kidney. Stem leaves usually deeply 3-5 lobed.
