Center for Urban Ecology at Butler University (CUE) - builds upon a solid history of student-faculty research and community service to foster and support the exploration and stewardship of the urban ecosystems of Indianapolis.

Indiana Native Plant and Wildflower Society (INPAWS) - http://www.inpaws.org - not-for-profit environmental and educational organization promoting the appreciation, conservation, beauty, diversity and environmental importance of indigenous vegetation.

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) - http://www.nature.org/ - dedicated to preserving plants, animals and natural communities. Indiana Chapter - http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/indiana/.

Division of Nature Preserves - http://www.in.gov/dnr/naturepr/, Indiana Department of Natural Resources - contains the Indiana Natural Heritage Data Center, Listing of endangered, threatened, and rare vascular plants of Indiana, and info on old growth forests in Indiana.

Conserving Indiana - The Central Indiana Land Trust (CILTI)   - the Central Indiana Land Trust Incorporated preserves natural areas, improving air and water quality and enhancing life in our communities for present and future generations.

The Natural Heritage of Indiana - Wildflowers

Midwest Invasive Plant Network (MIPN) - mission is to reduce the impact of invasive plant species in the Midwest.

Wildflowers of Southwest Indiana - Marc Evans, Owen County.  Includes wildflowers lists, images, and lots of information about plants of Southwest Indiana.

Michigan Flora Online - a new resource for Michigan and Great Lakes botanists, is available for all vascular plants.  The site includes keys to families, genera and species, plus maps and discussion as in the three volume Michigan Flora, but has in addition color photos of many species.

The Natural Areas Association - http://www.naturalarea.org/ - brings together persons concerned with the identification, evaluation, management, protection, and study of natural areas and other elements of natural diversity.

Botanical Society of America - http://www.botany.org/ - promotes research and teaching in all fields of plant biology.

Plants National Database - maintained by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service contains plant database and photo gallery.

The Plant List - a new resource for the plant sciences community is a working list of all known plant species. Version 1 aims to be comprehensive for species of Vascular plant (flowering plants, conifers, ferns and their allies) and of Bryophytes (mosses and liverworts).

My-Plant - Phylogenetically Based Social Network for the Plant Sciences

Environmental Education Association of Indiana - dedicated to promoting environmental education for all Indiana citizens.

National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Dept. of Botany - information about the botanical collections housed at the museum.

Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida Herbarium (FLAS) - holdings of approx. 1/2 million specimens.

Floridata - online photo reference of plants.

Vascular Plant Image Gallery, - from Texas A & M University, Bioinformatics Working Group, a photo gallery of vascular plants.

Wild Flowers of the Southern Appalachians - nice photos of wildflowers of this part of the country.

Spring Wildflowers of Northern Virginia - another nice photo gallery of wildflowers.

Oregon Flora Project - checklist, image gallery, Atlas, etc.

Consortium of Pacific Northwest Herbaria - represents herbaria in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Yukon Territory.

The Plant Conservation Alliance - http://www.nps.gov/plants/ - is a consortium of ten federal government Member agencies and more than 145 non-federal Cooperators (INPAWS is a cooperator) representing various disciplines within the conservation field: biologists, botanists, habitat preservationists, horticulturists, resources management consultants, soil scientists, special interest clubs, non-profit organizations, concerned citizens, nature lovers, and gardeners. PCA Members and Cooperators work collectively to solve the problems of native plant extinction and native habitat restoration, ensuring the preservation of our ecosystem. (The PCA was formerly the Native Plant Conservation Initiative.)

Center for Plant Conservation - http://www.centerforplantconservation.org/welcome.asp - is the only national organization in the U.S. dedicated solely to preventing the extinction of U.S. native plants. Founded in 1984, the CPC operates a national program of ex situ conservation, research, education and restoration through a consortium of 28 leading botanical gardens and arboreta.
