Announcing the "Butler University Friesner Herbarium Digital Collection"
The Friesner Herbarium digital collection project is a multiyear
effort to link label information from our Indiana specimens with
images in a searchable electronic format. Our goal is to
increase access to, awareness of and use by all Indiana citizens of
the valuable historical botanical information contained with the
Friesner Herbarium. Entry of Ferns and fern allies, Orchid
and Sunflower family members is complete. We are now working
on the Bean, Buttercup, Figwort, Mint, and Mustard families.
This project is part of the Indiana Memory Digital Library (http://www.indianamemory.org)
and is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum
and Library Services (http://www.imls.gov )under the
provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered
by the Indiana State Library and Butler University.
