Exercise Routes

Walking and jogging are great ways to stay in shape. Butler University offers a variety of exercise routes around campus to help you meet your fitness goals.

Outdoor Routes:

1 Mile: Route A | Route B | Route C

1.5 Miles: Route A | Route B | Route C

2 Miles: Route A | Route B | Route C

2.5 Miles: Route A

3 Miles: Route A | Route B | Route C

Indoor Routes:

Indoor Track at Hinkle Fieldhouse
6.5 laps = 1 mile
Note: Availability of track is subject to schedule of Butler Athletics. While the track is available most mornings, lunch hours, and evenings, it may be closed to accommodate team practices and games. If track is closed, the 1st floor corridors may be used for walking.

Indoor Routes
For a quick 3/4 mile walk that includes stairs:

  1. Start at the main entrance of Jordan Hall.
  2. Walk down the hall to the College of Education.
  3. Take the steps up to the 2nd floor.
  4. Turn right and walk all the way down the hallway to the stairwell across from Room 206.
  5. Take the steps up to the 3rd floor.
  6. Turn left and walk all the way down the hallway to the stairwell next to Room 382.
  7. Take the steps back down to the 2nd floor.
  8. Walk straight ahead to enter the Holcomb Building Walkway.
  9. Take the walkway to the stairwell across from the library.
  10. Descend the stairs until you find yourself at the College of Business.
  11. Retrace your steps back to the starting point at the Jordan Hall Mail Center for the full 3/4 mile route.
