Scope of Services
Butler University Health Services provides ambulatory acute care
to students currently enrolled in the University. We seek to
provide acute care services to sick or injured students and to
provide patient education. Our primary goal is to have students
leave the clinic not only feeling better but also being better
informed about their condition and how to provide self care. Our
focus is to keep Butler students healthy and consequently better
able to enjoy the Butler University experience.
Students who enter Butler with a chronic illness for which
regular medical care is needed are encouraged to maintain follow up
with their primary care physician. If that is not practical, we
advise students to find a physician located in the Indianapolis
area that will be able to support their medical needs. Please
contact us for assistance in finding an appropriate local
physician.
To make the best use of everyone's time, students should make an
appointment or call ahead before coming to the clinic. There
may be times that we may need to refer students to off-campus
health care providers due to the MD's schedule being full or we are
unable to treat within the scope of our practice.

- RN assessment and consultation
- On site MD appointments for acute and minor illnesses or
injuries as well as health maintenance and physical
