Red Cup Culture
The Red Cup Culture program is a creative approach to prevention
that incorporates a campus-made video followed by a peer
facilitated discussion for all first-year students during the first
week of the academic semester.
After participating in The Red Cup Culture program, first-year
students will be able to:
- Identify community expectations to make healthy choices and
support others in doing the same.
- Understand campus policy and state laws related to alcohol
use.
- Identify the effects and consequences of high risk
drinking.
- Know the key campus resources related to situations involving
high risk drinking.
The peer educators who facilitate the discussions following the
video are members of the Red Cup Culture Team. Selection of
peer educators takes place each semester in the Spring. Training
for facilitators occurs annually in August.
