Summer School
In order to borrow for summer school:
Students must be enrolled for a minimum of six (6) credit hours
at Butler University in one or both summer terms.
A summer school application, which is available
online
and in the Office of Financial Aid must be completed and submitted
to the Office of Financial Aid prior to the published priority
date. Applications will be available after spring break each
year.
Priority dates for submitting an application to the Office of
Financial Aid are as follows:
Summer One: May 1
Summer Two: June 15
In order to use remaining Federal Direct Loan Eligibility for
Summer School:
Students must have filed a FAFSA and have completed verification
(if applicable) for the academic year preceding
summer school. Eligibility will be determined by the Office of
Financial Aid.
Students must have unused Federal Direct Loan eligibility from
the academic year preceding summer school.
Students with no Federal Direct Loan eligibility available may
use private education loans or the Federal Direct PLUS
Loan program (if eligible) to assist with the costs associated with
summer school. A FAFSA is not necessary when applying for a
private loan; however, the Summer School application must be
completed.
