Workshop Overview ~ Faith and Vocation of Education
Professors and staff at Butler are
dedicated to helping students learn how to lead lives of purpose
and meaning. The center's workshop on faith and vocation helps
these men and women understand their own unique vocations in
education and also become better advisors and mentors to their
students.
During a series of retreats and dinner conversations, a group of
10 professors and staff gather at the Blue House to reflect on
their own professional and vocational journeys; to learn about
religious diversity on our campus and in the world and to become
stronger advisors and mentors to Butler students and each
other.
The application process for this annual program begins in
February. Those interested in participating must submit a 300- to
400-word essay about their work at Butler and how they believe the
workshop will strengthen their interaction with students and
support their commitment to education. Full program details are
available. Each year we strive to have participants represent a
diversity of colleges, departments and religious perspectives. If
you have any questions contact CFV director, Judith Cebula.
