Religious & Spiritual Life at Butler

The spiritual and religious needs of the Butler community are
addressed by a number of dedicated individuals and student-led
groups. At the heart of this outreach is the Blue House, a center
for religious life located at 4615 Sunset Ave., directly across the
street from Clowes Memorial Hall of Butler University. In the Blue
House are the offices of several religious student organizations,
including the Butler Catholic Community, Butler Hillel and
Lutheran-Episcopal Campus Ministries.
Anchoring the house is the Center for Faith and Vocation, an
initiative that offers everyone at Butler opportunities to reflect
on issues of religion, spirituality and calling in a spirit of
hospitality, inclusion and respect. The center offers internships
at faith-based organizations, pre-theology advising, opportunities
for international travel, training for Butler faculty and staff and
the Butler Seminar on Religion and World Civilization, a public
lecture series.
The Center for Faith and Vocation and the Blue House strive to
honor religious diversity and to encourage and deepen distinct
faith expression and interfaith collaboration. Students interested
in learning more about religious groups at Butler and in the
Indianapolis area are invited to contact the Center for Faith and
Vocation, (317) 923-7253.
