Process:
Nominations may be made by any member of the University community and are solicited during the Fall semester. Nomination expectations and forms are included here.
Awardees would be announced in the following spring semester. Since these University-level awards are the highest accolades given by the University to its faculty, the announcement of them should be made when faculty are gathered together, such as at Commencement.
The selection recommendation committee would consist of faculty peers from across the University. In the first year, the Faculty Development Advisory Board could serve this function; successive years would have previous awardees serve as the selection recommendation committee.
One award from each category would be given annually. Awardees may only receive a Distinguished University Award once in each area.
In addition to the honor of receiving a Distinguished Award, awardees also will receive a recognition plaque, a $3,000 stipend, and they will be recognized at Commencement and the Fall Faculty Workshop.
