Distinguished Faculty Awards

Process:

  • Nominations may be made by any member of the University community and are solicited during the Fall semester. Nomination expectations and forms are included here.
  • Awardees would be announced in the following spring semester. Since these University-level awards are the highest accolades given by the University to its faculty, the announcement of them should be made when faculty are gathered together, such as at Commencement.
  • The selection recommendation committee would consist of faculty peers from across the University.  In the first year, the Faculty Development Advisory Board could serve this function; successive years would have previous awardees serve as the selection recommendation committee.
  • One award from each category would be given annually. Awardees may only receive a Distinguished University Award once in each area.
  • In addition to the honor of receiving a Distinguished Award, awardees also will receive a recognition plaque, a $3,000 stipend, and they will be recognized at Commencement and the Fall Faculty Workshop.
