Bob Mackoy is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Butler University. His primary responsibilities have been teaching graduate level business courses in marketing management, buyer behavior, and marketing research. 

His research interests focus on consumer satisfaction and loyalty, global business, and causal analysis. Bob has presented at over 30 academic and professional conferences, and has published numerous scholarly articles in journals such as Decision Sciences, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Social Psychology, and Journal of Internet Commerce.

Bob has also worked extensively outside academia in a variety of organizations, both large and small; his major responsibility in most of his jobs has been to try to understand customers. For example, Bob has held positions as a marketing research analyst for Pacific Gas & Electric Company and as the general manager of a publishing and conference management firm. He has also consulted with major utilities, an automobile manufacturer, hospitals, advertising and marketing firms, an airport, and a variety of small businesses.
