*Literary and Cultural History Requirement
Students are required to take three of the four courses in the
Literary and Cultural History sequence - (EN245, EN246, EN265 and
EN266).
Students will take an upper-level course in the fourth area that
they do not cover at the 200-level.
In order to track this requirement, courses that meet the
Literary and Cultural History Requirement will be designated in
this way:
- A1 equivalent to EN245, focusing primarily on American
literature up to the Civil War
- A2 equivalent to EN246, focusing primarily on American
literature after the Civil War
- B1 equivalent to EN265, focusing primarily on British
Literature before 1800
- B2 equivalent to EN266, focusing primarily on British
Literature after 1800
