The BU DIS is available to health care professionals only. We do
not respond to medical information requests directly from the
public.
Drug information requests from consumers are best handled by
direct care providers who are aware of the patients' medical
histories, current conditions, medications, and overall healthcare
needs. Often times laymen need assistance identifying an unknown
medication. If you are a consumer and need help identifying a
medication, you may call the FDA's Drug Information Service at
888-INFOFDA or (301) 827-4570 or consult the pill identification
area at www.drugs.com.
The BU DIS is not a Poison Control Center. If you are in need of
poison control services, please contact your nearest Poison Control
Center by calling (800) 222-1222. There are poison experts
available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
