Drug Information Center
The Butler University Drug Information Service (BU DIS) is
a valuable resource available to healthcare professionals. A main
purpose of the Butler University Drug Information Service is to
advance pharmaceutical care by providing timely, concise, thorough,
patient-specific, and evidence-based responses to healthcare
professionals' drug information requests. The Butler University
Drug Information Service is equipped to handle a vast array of medical information questions pertaining to
the safe and effective use of prescription and over-the-counter
medications.
The Drug Information Service is located in the Pharmacy Building
on Butler's campus. It is staffed by clinical pharmacists who are
drug information specialists and serves as a training ground for
pharmacy students and residents. It provides excellent customer
service, as supported by the results of our customer satisfaction survey.
The Butler University Drug Information Service is available free
of charge to individual healthcare professionals directly
affiliated with Butler University, including preceptors of pharmacy
and physician assistant students. The Butler University Drug
Information Service is also available to pharmacists in Indiana who
are employed by companies participating in Butler's Professional
Partners Program (e.g. pharmacists employed by CVS, Walgreens, or
Kroger.) Additionally, the service is available to healthcare
institutions, corporations, and individual providers who have
specific written contracts with the Butler University Drug
Information Service. This service is NOT open to the public.
