Butler Ballet proudly presents the only fully staged production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker in central Indiana.  A holiday family tradition, children and adults will be dazzled and delighted by spectacular dancing, beautiful costumes, glorious scenery, and pyrotechnical magic.  The brilliance of Tchaikovsky's
music will be brought to life by the Butler Ballet Orchestra and the Indianapolis Children's Choir under the direction of Richard Auldon Clark.

For its season in the Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts the Butler Ballet will once again present two different programs in repertory featuring Viva Vivaldi by Gerald Arpino and works by resident choreographers Marek Cholewa, Patrick Hinson, Stephan Laurent, Susan McGuire, Cynthia Pratt, and Derek Reid.

The Sleeping Beauty, the most magical of all the fairy-tale ballets! A beautiful princess, an evil fairy, a curse that dooms everyone to sleep for a hundred years, and a magical kiss.  What more can you ask ? The Bluebird, Puss-in-Boots, the White Cat, Red Riding Hood, the Wolf, and vibrant and colorful Fairies, are among the many guests invited to Aurora's extravagant wedding that concludes this family favorite. Come experience the enchantment and majesty of this time-honored classic set to some of the most beautiful music ever written for the ballet.  Tchaikovsky's very first ballet score, full of soaring melodies and sparkling variations, is performed live by the Butler Ballet Orchestra under the direction of Richard Auldon Clark.  Indulge yourself in the fantasy of dreams that come true, Butler Ballet's The Sleeping Beauty.
