The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Butler University (www.butler.edu/csse) invites applications for a post-doctoral position in Scientific Computation or a related area, that includes high-performance computing. This position will start in August, 2008.
Applicants for the position are required to have a masters degree or equivalent coursework in computer science and a Ph.D. in a science discipline, as well as an interest in teaching in a liberal arts environment. An ongoing research program that utilizes supercomputing facilities is required, and research that can include undergraduate students is a plus. Salary and fringe benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
The successful candidate for the post-doc position would teach the equivalent of one 3-hour course per semester, at the undergraduate level, engage in research related to high-performance computing utilizing our new supercomputer, and help, through occasional workshops, one-on-one consultation, and other means as appropriate, to develop interested Butler faculty into sophisticated supercomputing users. This is a two-year position.
