Making Appointments
How to Schedule
Appointments to see a counselor may be made in person or by
telephone, Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m., Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m. When making an appointment, you will be scheduled
a time to discuss your issues in confidence with a counselor. The
telephone number for CCS is (317) 940-9385.
Your First Appointment
For your first appointment please plan to arrive 15
minutes early to fill out paperwork. When you arrive you
will be asked to provide some information for your counselor.
During the first appointment, your counselor will allow you to
share information about yourself and also ask questions to better
understand your concerns. Meetings with counselors generally last
50 minutes.
After the initial appointment the CCS staff will meet to
determine what will best meet your needs (personal counseling,
group counseling, or a referral to another provider). You will
receive a call from the staff regarding your next step by the end
of the week.
If you are seeking advice or information rather than counseling
for yourself, you may also set up a consultation session or meeting
with a counselor. Students often come in seeking support on how to
help friends/roommates with concerns or to inquire about what kind
of services/resources are available for a particular issue, such as
sexual assault, alcohol and drug problems, or eating disorders.
