Butler Youth Jazz Program

Mission
The Butler Youth Jazz Program (BYJP) seeks to provide a
demanding yet fun performance-based education in the great American
art form of jazz. These ensembles (jazz combos in the fall and jazz
ensembles in the spring) are intended for the most interested
students as a supplemental experience to the jazz education
provided by the fine directors of the region. The BYJO will perform
one concert per semester on the Butler University campus.
Goals
Students will enjoy a stimulating ensemble experience with
like-minded students from the area. They will develop new musical
skills and leadership capabilities through which to enrich their
school ensembles.
