Tentative Schedule for 2013
- Sunday, June 16, 6:00-9:00pm: ALL campers attend for
orientation, scheduling, theory placement, get-acquainted
activities
- Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18, 9:00-5:30pm: ALL
campers follow daily schedule of private lessons, ensemble classes,
elective classes. Lunch included for commuter campers.
For residential campers, there will be supervised evening
activities; 3 meals/day included in tuition.
- Wednesday, June 19, 9:00am-9:00pm; ALL campers follow
daily schedule PLUS stay for dinner (no additional charge) and
evening talent show.
- Thursday, June 20, 9:00am-9:00pm; ALL campers follow daily
schedule PLUS stay for dinner (no additional charge). Finale
recital begins at 7:00pm. Camp ends at the conclusion of the
recital.
This camp is open to students ages 12-17 or who are in rising
grades 7-12. No audition is required; all levels are welcome. All
students receive daily private lessons and master classes. Other
sessions include theory, ensemble, music history, sightplaying, and
guest speakers and performers. Optional classes may include dance,
improvisation, composition and steel drum ensemble.
Housing is provided in Butler University's ResCo dorm, which is
air-conditioned. Dorm check-in is 4:30-6:00 on Sunday evening;
check-out is 8:00-9:30pm on Thursday. It is generally recommended
that 7th graders attend as commuter students. Commuters arrive by
9:00 a.m. each day and may be picked up at 5:30pm. On Sunday,
all campers, including commuters, should plan to attend from
6:00-9:00pm. Applications must be postmarked by May 15 for
residential campers; full payment due by June 1. Late applications
may be accepted on the basis of available space.
