Private Music Lessons

BCASPrivate Lessons

Our trained instructors, Butler students known as "Teaching Fellows," are passionate artists engaged in creating learning experiences that accomplish their students' goals. Private lessons take place in Lilly Hall on Butler University's campus, and lesson times are arranged to accommodate both the teacher and the student.

Lessons are available in the following areas:

  • Piano
  • Voice (minimum age=12)
  • Strings
  • Brass
  • Woodwinds
  • Percussion
  • Guitar (minimum age=8)
  • Composition
  • Music Theory


The cost of private lessons for a typical 14-week semester, consisting of weekly 30-minute lessons, is $322. Longer lessons also are available. Cost is prorated for students beginning lessons after the start of the semester. Information on payment options can be found on our online OR printable registration form.

During the summer session, you may enroll for any number of lessons and, depending on the instructor, scheduling is flexible in terms of the day and time of your lesson.
