Student's Perspective
"As a former Exploratory major, I came into the program my
sophomore year. I was attracted by the scientific and psychological
aspects of speech-pathology that allowed me to pursue those
interests without quite the intensity of medical school. I wanted a
career that offered a variety of ways to help others. The
possibilities were exciting: working with babies with cleft
palates in a hospital, individuals who have
had strokes, or children in schools just to name a few! I've
been able to study abroad, acquire music and psychology minors and
still meet all the requirements with time for many electives.
Basically, it's a career that is very adaptable to an individual's
interests and goals. And I've never met a speech-pathologist I
didn't like!"
