Peace Through Yoga Certification Workshop

Peace Through Yoga and the Butler College of Education will
offer a certification course for yoga trainers June 3-27, 2013, at
Butler. Classes will be held Monday through Saturday from 8
am - 6 pm. Peace Through Yoga instructors Christine
Yovanovich and Sally Bassett-Brown will lead the 200-hour course,
along with guest instructors.
Session topics will include alignment and anatomy, cuing
students verbally and through hands-on adjustments, meditation and
mindfulness techniques, yogic philosophy and history, and the
"Business of Yoga," effective marketing of yourself as a successful
yoga instructor.
About the Instructors
Sally Bassett-Brown has studied yoga for close to two decades
with some of the world's top teachers. She teaches a variety
of styles ranging from gentle to power yoga. She also leads
trips internationally teaching Vinyasa Yoga, to all levels as well
as the local children in the destinations. Sally Bassett-Brown
founded Peace through Yoga, located in Indianapolis and Zionsville,
Ind.
A full-time instructor since 2006, Yovanovich has taught
numerous classes focused on yoga for therapeutic and restorative
aims, stress reduction, and strength building. She has lead
instruction for schools, corporations, and non-profit
organizations. She developed a "Yoga and Cultivating Creativity"
workshop which she has presented frequently in the Indianapolis
area and Ft. Wayne.
Cost
Cost for the Butler workshop is $2,500*. University lodging will
be provided for out-of-town students for an additional cost.
Participants can choose to earn 3-credit hours in education for
successful course completion; a $500 fee is applicable.
*This workshop is not eligible for tuition remission.
