Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have a Teaching Background?
While the METL program has been designed for classroom teachers, it
is not limited to those who are currently teaching or to those who
hold a teaching license. There are some candidates in the program
in education-related fields who are working toward the master's
degree in education. The METL program, however, will not
lead to teacher certification or licensure. For more
information regarding licensure, contact the Division of
Professional Standards, 101 W. Ohio St., Suite 300, Indianapolis,
IN 46204 . (317) 232-9010.
