College of Education Distinguished Alumni Award
The Butler University College of Education seeks to recognize
distinguished alumni from both its undergraduate and graduate
programs.
Guidelines for Nomination
Individuals should demonstrate:
- An ongoing commitment and service to elevating the field of
education
- Regional or national recognition as outstanding leaders in
education
- A contribution toward the vision of the college, which
asks educators to advocate for schools as they should be, not
simply perpetuate schools as they currently exist
Rules and Restrictions
Nominations may be submitted by college alumni or any program
area within the college. Nominees must be a graduate of the
college, living or deceased. Self -nominations will not be
accepted.
Nominations will be accepted throughout the year. Those received
by Feb. 1 will be considered for the current academic year.
Nominated individuals will be considered in the future if not
selected for the current academic year.
Nominations received by Feb. 1 will be reviewed by the COE
Alumni and Development Committee. The committee will present no
more than five names for consideration by the full COE faculty.
Those selected by the majority of faculty will be named
Distinguished Alumni and honored during a celebration at the end of
the academic year.
