Steve NelsonStephen R. Nelson

Stephen is a member of the faculty of the College of Business as an Instructor in Information Technology and Statistics having served as an adjunct professor. He also teaches Operations Management and Systems and Strategic Business Leadership in the MBA program.

Nelson holds an engineering degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Indiana University.

In addition to having taught at Butler previously, he has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses at Indiana University and Bradley University. Steve's career has included assignments as the CIO at HHGregg; Division President at Telamon; CIO at Ruppman Marketing Technologies; President of Ohio Bell Communications; Vice President of Marketing for Ameritech Information Systems; Vice President and General Manager of GTE's Information Business' unit; and an IBM branch manager.

Nelson has nearly 40 years' experience in information technology, and, in addition to ERP and product distribution expertise, has specific industry application experience in retail, contact centers, telecommunications, health care, financial services and library automation.
