Debra Uhl has a Master's of Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota. She comes to us with extensive experience in healthcare administration, most recently as the Chief Operating Officer at University Hospital. She was responsible for the planning and opening of IU Simon Cancer Center,  a state-of-the-art, $150 million cancer hospital. To guide the planning process, Debra worked with approximately 150 staff and physician leaders and an advisory group of current and former cancer patients. Prior to that, she was the Associate Director of Hospitals for Indiana University Hospitals, where she planned and implemented a new care delivery model that improved service to patients and saved $12 million and, prior to that, she was the Assistant Administrator at Vanderbilt University Hospital. She has also served on a variety of nonprofit boards, including Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, United Hospital Services, and the IU Health Pension Board. Additionally, she has taught an annual practicum for undergraduate and graduate students.
