Looking for more information on Auschwitz? There is an excellent website by the PBS series Auschwitz: Inside the Nazi State. Here you will find useful information about the series, as well as maps, a history of the camp, essays and a timeline.

CNN.com has comprehensive coverage of the events of 1989 -- not just in Germany. In addition to scripts from the newscast, the site also offeres a "slide show" that does a lovely job of highlighting the events preceding the fall of many of the communist governments of Eastern Europe.
