Development Courses
Instructors may request a development version of a course that
will allow them to work on course materials over a longer period of
time and in a private space that is not term-specific. These
special development courses are created by request
only.
Key parameters of this program with some noted restrictions
include:
- Faculty may request one course for each subject area/catalog
number. (i.e. ID202)
- Only faculty may be enrolled in the course; no students.
- Faculty may request co-instructors for group development.
- Faculty may request a sample student account with the
development course.
- Faculty may request that all materials be copied from the
term-specific version of the course to the new development
course.
- Requests for these special courses will
not be filled during peak periods of
Blackboard activity before each term (peak periods include the
months of August and January).
- Requests submitted at these times will be processed after the
drop/add period completes.
- Requests should be made with all requirements specified on a
single form.
