Brain Gain Program

Brain Gain LogoThe Brain Gain Program, which is coordinated by Internship and Career Services (ICS), is designed to help students connect with the Indianapolis culture and community during the summer. Students secure and complete an internship or similar experience with a local organization, thereby strengthening their connections to potential employers. The program offers evening programming to introduce students to the social and cultural communities beyond Butler. The Brain Gain Program also allows students the opportunity to live in safe, subsidized housing on campus during the summer.

Housing ~ Show detail

Brain Gain Program participants will be housed at a reduced rate of $50 per week for double occupancy or $90 per week for single occupancy in University Terrace (UT) Apartments. In the case that a student is currently living in the Apartment Village (AV) and has signed the contract to remain in the AV during the next academic year, he or she will be allowed to live in the AV over the summer at the reduced rates listed above. Information on UT Apartments and Residence Life policies can be found at the following site: http://www.butler.edu/residence-life/

If a student does not complete the terms of the Brain Gain Program, he or she will be charged the standard rate for campus housing.

Please note: All participants will be required to move out of UT at the end of the program on July 31 in order for the Building and Grounds crew to make necessary repairs and cleaning for the next academic year. This is a university-wide policy. Participants must be able to secure interim housing between the move-out date and the start of the next semester if they need to stay in the Indianapolis area.
