Student Requirements:
The Career Development staff can assist by:
- Identifying suitable employers.
- Bringing employers to campus to interview students.
- Posting job openings.
- Establishing employer partnerships for internships.
- Helping you define your career goals and personal
strengths.
- Assisting with resume preparation.
- Helping to identify networking options.
Students are responsible for:
- Attending campus or local job fairs.
- Networking with friends, faculty, and family.
- Exploring Internet job postings.
- Researching specific firms or industries.
- Staying in touch with the Career Development staff and
responding in a timely manner to phone calls and email
messages.
- Writing thank you notes after interviews.
- Keeping the staff informed of personal job search activities,
including any change in phone number, address, etc.
- Attending all mandatory classes and/or workshops.
- Preparing cover letters as needed.
- Having references readily available.
- Registering for COB401 and COB402.
- Submitting an electronic resume to the Career Development
Office.
- Submitting required application materials.
- Securing COB approval of internship opportunities prior to
accepting an offer.
