Student Requirements:

The Career Development staff can assist by:

  • Identifying suitable employers.
  • Bringing employers to campus to interview students.
  • Posting job openings.
  • Establishing employer partnerships for internships.
  • Helping you define your career goals and personal strengths.
  • Assisting with resume preparation.
  • Helping to identify networking options.

Students are responsible for:

  • Attending campus or local job fairs.
  • Networking with friends, faculty, and family.
  • Exploring Internet job postings.
  • Researching specific firms or industries.
  • Staying in touch with the Career Development staff and responding in a timely manner to phone calls and email messages.
  • Writing thank you notes after interviews.
  • Keeping the staff informed of personal job search activities, including any change in phone number, address, etc.
  • Attending all mandatory classes and/or workshops.
  • Preparing cover letters as needed.
  • Having references readily available.
  • Registering for COB401 and COB402.
  • Submitting an electronic resume to the Career Development Office.
  • Submitting required application materials.
  • Securing COB approval of internship opportunities prior to accepting an offer.
