Applying to Art
Majors
Regardless of status as an incoming freshmen or an internal
applicant, Art faculty will conduct a 30+ minute interview with you
on Butler's campus which will be scheduled after you submit your
Butler application and complete the supplemental Art
application including a portfolio with 10+ works. The Art
application includes a listing for art experience, an essay on why
you want to pursue an Art + Design major and your portfolio. You
must submit a portfolio of your artwork including
10 images on a CD-Rom or link to your website. Learn how

Minors
New students
Art faculty will conduct a 30+ minute interview with you on

Internal candidates (existing Butler
students)
- Begin process by emailing or calling the program director,
Michelle Jarvis at mjarvis@butler.edu or
317-940-9961.
- Submit a url with 10 images (utilizing any software or site;
blog, facebook, flickr, etc.).
- Complete application obtained from program director.
- Email portfolio url and application back to program director,
Michelle Jarvis at mjarvis@butler.edu.
- Faculty will review and vote electronically and the program
director will email results directly to the applicant.
