The Parking Contest is a fundraiser for
the Butler University Student Foundation (BUSF) to
support student scholarships, conferences and leadership training.
Members of the Butler community will have the opportunity to place
an electronic bid for a reserved parking spot in one of three
categories: campus resident, commuter student, and
faculty/staff.
Participants may bid as many times as they'd like, and the highest
bid received by the conclusion of the contest will be the
winner of each spot. Bids will be tracked via time-stamp. In the
event that two bids of the same amount are received, the bid
received first will be considered the winner. Bids will be accepted
through 4:59 p.m. on the closing date of the contest. Bids received
with a time stamp of 5 p.m. or later are not eligible. Bids should
be made in $1 increments.
Participants can check this webpage daily for updates on the
current high bid for each spot. Winners will be notified by the
Office of Alumni and Parent Programs. Winners must have a vehicle
registered with the Butler University Police Department in the same
type of classification as their winning spot. Only one winning
vehicle may be registered to each parking spot for the semester.
The parking spots may not be transferred by the winner to other
individuals or shared among multiple vehicles.
The campus resident spot will be placed in the parking
area for the residence hall or Greek house (if permitted) of
the winner. The campus resident spot must be placed
within a parking lot and not along the street. It is up to the
winning student to secure any necessary permission to place the
spot at a Greek housing location. The commuter spot will be
located in the Irwin Library lot. The faculty/staff spot
will be placed either in the the Irwin Library lot or in the
lot between Holcomb and Robertson Hall, depending on the winner's
preference. Winners will have use of their spot through finals week
of the semester during which they won.
