Black Alumni
Association
The Black Alumni Association assists African-American graduates
in maintaining strong connections with their alma mater. With
programming specifically designed for minority alumni, no matter
when they graduated, the Black Alumni Association provides an
opportunity for you to socialize with your fellow graduates,
network for career opportunities and serve both the community and
Butler. The association consists of alumni who have volunteered to
give of their time, talents and treasures. Monique Wise, associate
director of alumni and parent programs, serves as the council's

The Butler University Black Alumni Association invites alumni,
family and friends to join them in celebrating Indiana Black Expo
Summer Celebration at the Pacers Sports & Entertainment
Corporate Luncheon Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Make plans
to join the BAA as they host a table at this sell out event that
recognizes living legends, local heroes, national activists and
world renowned celebrities for their extraordinary contributions to
society. Program begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. and door open
at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $60 per person and includes lunch and your
seat at the BAA hosted table. Tickets are limited and
available on a first-come, first-served basis. Event may sell out
before registration deadline. Reservations must be postmarked or
made online by Friday, July 12, 2013. For event questions, please

Officer Elections held at Black Alumni Association Annual
Meeting - Monday, May 14, 2012
The BAA voted new officers at their annual meeting on Monday,
May 14. Monica Peterson '88 is the new president and Whittney
Murphy '11 is vice president. Whittney Murphy was the first
recipient of the Black Alumni Association Scholarship and will now
lead efforts to increase the endowed scholarship. Cynthia Payne '05
joined the leadership team as secretary in late 2012. The
officers terms expire on June 1, 2014.
