How do I become a member of the Butler University Alumni

You are considered a Butler alumnus if you have 30 credit hours
or more at Butler University. All Butler alumni are automatically
members of the Butler University Alumni Association, and as such,
enjoy multiple benefits and receive regular mailings. It is a
non-dues-paying association. A volunteer board of directors governs
the Alumni Association. The board meets three times a year and is
comprised of a diverse body of alumni. Butler University also
sponsors a Black Alumni Association and Gay Lesbian Bisexual
Transgender Alumni Association and Young Alumni Board of
Directors.

How do I get a Butler University license plate?

The Butler
University license plate validation and acquisition process changed
in 2008. Getting a BU license plate is easier now more than ever!
Anyone can purchase a Butler license plate through the Indiana
Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV). For new orders, download and print
a copy of the
BU license plate order form (PDF) to mail in with your renewal
form.
I'm renewing my Butler license plate. What is the new
process?
The new process is similar to what you've done in the past, just
more streamlined. After receiving the BMV notice to renew your
license plate, proceed as you typically would by renewing directly
at your local branch, at a self-service terminal, online or by mail.
When prompted to choose a Plate Type, simply
select Butler University - SP. If you'd like a Butler motorcycle
plate, select Butler University - MC. Also be sure to CHECK THE BOX
to elect tax benefits for your purchase.
The $25 group fee, which is a donation to Butler University,
will now be collected by the BMV as part of the regular renewal
process. University issued Butler license plate forms are
no longer necessary. The University cannot validate license plate
forms. *

I've never had a Butler license plate. How do I 'Ride with
Pride'?
After receiving the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles notice to
renew your license plate, proceed as you typically would by
renewing through the BMV directly at your local branch, online or
by mail. If you have never had a BU plate, you CANNOT order one
online or through a self-service terminal. Download and
print a copy of the BU license plate order form (PDF). Fill out
the form and send it in along with your renewal form to the
BMV.
When choosing a Plate Type, simply select
Butler University - SP. If you'd like a Butler
motorcycle plate, select Butler University - MC.
Also be sure to CHECK THE BOX to elect tax benefits for your
purchase.
A $25 group fee, which is a donation to Butler University, will

*Note: In order for Butler to identify you as a donor, the
CHECKBOX must be selected, OR you must fax, email or mail your BMV
receipt to the Office of Annual Giving. You will
then be issued a confirmation.

The BMV revised the renewal process and rather than sending a
receipt to the Butler University Office of Annual Giving, you'll
simply need to CHECK THE BOX to elect tax benefits
for your purchase. Checking the box online or on your BMV paperwork
will allow you to receive tax credit for your purchase and will
identify you as a donor to Butler.
Remember, failure to CHECK THE BOX means the
Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is not allowed to inform Butler of
your plate purchase. That means the University will not be able to
acknowledge your support and count you as a donor. If you forget to
CHECK THE BOX, you can still get donor credit by
sending a copy of your BMV receipt to the Office of Annual
Giving.

How do I get a Butler University alumni I.D.
card? ~ Show Answer
Call Alumni and Parent Programs at (800) 368-6852 ext. 9946 (or
stop by Robertson Hall) to receive an identification number and
authorization form. Then stop by Public Safety (call 1-800-368-6852
ext. 9396 for hours) located in the Butler University Police
Department at the corner of Sunset Ave. and Hampton Dr. to get your
photo taken and your card produced. A $5 processing fee will be
charged for each card. Check or cash only. Please allow 24
hours to process card requests.
