Laura Slusser Yurs '98

While a student at Butler, Laura Slusser Yurs studied
finance. She was also a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and the
business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi.
Throughout her years at Butler, Laura received many awards from
the College of Business Administration. She was also named one of
Butler's Top 100 students in 1997 and 1998 and was a recipient of
the Blue Key award.
Since graduating in 1998, Laura has gone on to become the
majority owner and president of Earth Images, Inc., a
W/DBE-certified specialty subcontracting firm based in Greenwood,
Ind. Earth Images performs seeding, sodding, erosion control and
landscaping for commercial building projects, the Indiana
Department of Transportation and the Commonwealth of the Kentucky
Transportation Cabinet. Laura's company donated erosion control
materials for the construction of the Fairbanks Center for
Communication and Technology, the Robertson Hall renovations and
the re-construction of the Butler Bowl.
As an alumna, Laura has been active in the Young Alumni Council.
She has contributed to the university through the Butler Fund, the
College of Business Administration fund, and the Class of '98 Gift
Fund. She also sponsors the Earth Images, Inc. Scholarship. Through
her company, she contributes to the Thomas and Cecilia Slusser
Business Scholarship. In 2005, Laura was recognized as one of
Butler's 50 under 50.
Laura married Butler alumnus Kevin Yurs '98 in September 2002.
They have one son, Michael, and are expecting their second child
this fall.
