Kevin
Morris was a very active Butler student. The Midge Rust and William
J. Davey Business Scholar, was co-president of the Black Student
Union. He was also a member of the football team, Phi Beta Sigma
fraternity and the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. In 1994 and 1995,
he was named one of Butler's Top 100 students. And, in 1993 and
1994 he was the recipient of the Black Student Union Male Student
Athlete of the Year Award.
Not long after graduating from Butler with both a bachelor's and
master's degree, Kevin attended The University of Chicago Law
School. After receiving his degree in 2002, Kevin joined Kirkland
& Ellis LLP. In this position, he advises private equity and
large public company clients on the acquisition and divestiture of
large multinational businesses.
While attending law school, Morris worked as a research
assistant at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Prior to that, he was the chief budgeting/planning officer for
Illinois State University's Student Affairs Division. He also
worked as a pharmaceutical healthcare representative for Pfizer
Inc.
Kevin has long supported Butler, both as a volunteer and donor.
He is currently involved with the Black Alumni Association, and
also serves as a member of the Butler Business Accelerator Advisory
Panel. Over the years, Kevin has contributed to the University
through the Butler Fund, the College of Business Administration
fund and the College of Business Dean's Fund.
Kevin is married to Tonya Randolph Morris. They have one son,
Christian.
