Just announced, a parking shuttle is being added
for the men's basketball game on Saturday evening (see details
below). Also note, Indianapolis observes Daylight Savings
Time, which will end at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 2. Please keep
this in mind when planning your travel and activities for

All tickets ordered through your Family Weekend registration
will be available for pick-up either Friday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. or
Saturday from 9:00-11:30 a.m. in the northeast lobby of Jordan
Hall. Your Butler student is welcome to pick-up your family's
order. An email with important reminders and updates will be sent
to all registrants the week of Oct. 27.

The Monumental Marathon
Saturday, November 1st will be the Monumental Marathon
in downtown Indianapolis. Road closures due to the marathon will
make travel to campus difficult between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on
Saturday. Families are strongly
encouraged to arrive on campus by 9:00 a.m. that day
and to book overnight stays on the north side of Indianapolis to
avoid closures downtown. Families arriving on campus prior to noon
on Saturday are advised to travel from the north to Boulevard and

Campus Arrival and Parking
Due to the campus streetscape project, the southbound lane of
Sunset (from 49th Street to Hampton Drive) will be
closed. Northbound traffic will be open. Families are encouraged to
enter campus by Clarendon from the south or by Boulevard and 46th
or Boulevard and Hampton from the east and to avoid 49th

note: access to campus from the south will be restricted on
Saturday morning due to the Monumental Marathon. Families arriving
on campus prior to noon on Saturday are advised to travel from the

Families are welcome to park in any of the lots marked A, C, or
visitor during the Family Weekend. Parking is not permitted in the
student housing parking areas, which are labeled as B permit
parking. Parking at Hinkle Fieldhouse will be restricted prior to
both the football game and the men's basketball game. Parking will
only be available to those families purchasing tailgate parking
passes prior to the football game, and it is open only to
basketball season pass holders prior to the men's basketball
Parking Shuttle for Men's Basketball Game
A parking shuttle will be offered to Butler basketball fans
attending the University of Chicago exhibition game. Patrons
can park their vehicles at the Meridian Street United Methodist
Church, located at 5500 North Meridian, and board shuttles that
will depart for Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Shuttle service will be provided at no cost and will begin 90
minutes prior to the scheduled tip-off. The last shuttle will
depart for campus at 7PM. Shuttles will unload patrons on 49th
Street, just outside the main entrance to the Hinkle parking lot.
Service will continue immediately following the conclusion of the
game. The last shuttle will depart Hinkle 20 minutes after the

Men's Basketball Tickets
Tickets for the men's basketball game are still available
through Ticketmaster. It is
anticipated that this game will sell out, so families are
encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Your student gets into
the game for free with his/her id, but only to sit in the student
section. If you wish to sit with your student in the stands, a
ticket will need to be purchased for your student as well. Tickets
ordered through the Family Weekend registration will be available
for pick-up at the Family Weekend registration area in Jordan Hall
on Friday from 4-6 p.m. and Saturday from 9-11:30 a.m.
Where to Stay
October 31-November 2 will be a busy weekend in Indianapolis, so
we encourage you to make your travel plans early. Special rates are
available at many local hotels (subject to availability) for Butler

Health and Recreation Complex (HRC)
Families are invited to enjoy the amenities of the HRC
throughout Family Weekend. All family members must be accompanied
by their Butler student. Family members who are not 16 years of age
are only permitted to use the gym and pool facilities, not the
Family Weekend hours: Friday, 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.; Saturday, 8:00
a.m.-10:00 p.m.; Sun 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.
Special Hours for Family Weekend
The Starbucks in Atherton Union will be open Saturday 8:00
a.m.-10:00 p.m. and Sunday 8:00 a.m.-midnight.
The Butler Bookstore in Atherton Union will be open Saturday 8:00
a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
