The Financial Aid Notification (FAN) is an outline of financial aid offered to students eligible to receive financial aid based on merit or need. The FAN also includes an average cost of attendance, which is used to determine financial aid eligibility. The FAN is not a bill or a statement of the student's account. For complete information about undergraduate, graduate and part-time tuition rates please see the complete fee schedule available from the Office of Student Accounts. Individual housing costs are available from the Office of Student Affairs.

Once we have completed the review of your financial aid application, we will make an offer of financial aid available to you online at my.butler.edu (Self-Service - Student Center - Finances - Review/Accept/Decline Financial Aid). You can accept or decline each award, select a lender (if necessary) and report any outside scholarships that you may be receiving for the academic year to the Office of Financial Aid electronically. You will also have the option to e-mail a summary of your financial aid to your Butler e-mail account (as an Adobe Acrobat file).

You will be notified by an e-mail sent to your Butler account when your initial offer of financial aid is ready for review and when changes are made reflecting new information. It is crucial for you to check your email on a regular basis for the latest updates. At the same time, notification will be sent to your home address to remind you to review your financial aid file and respond quickly. We recommend that you accept and/or decline any or all of the awards within three weeks of the email to avoid cancellation or adjustment of your awards.
